The Forgotten Rising City

On a warm sunny day, a young traveller with her companion suddenly comes across an old forgotten city in a distant land that might've once harbored a great empire. They stop to admire the scenery; the tall buildings still reach all the way to the sky, despite showing time has left its mark on them. I tried to give a feeling of warmth, yet loneliness and abandonment at the same time. I want to try doing more laid-back paintings like this that aren't necessarily fully "finished". Environments are my new thing lately, though I admit I'm inexperienced in that field.
